Default Has anyone ever used a voltage reducer for your welder outlet?

We recently moved into a new shop. The only outlets we have to plug our lincoln 220 mig welder in are for our instant hot water heaters. These heaters run on something like 240 ish volts, thus supercharging our welder. On metal thats thick enough it works great. But today I had to weld a thin floor pan, and even on the lowest setting it was blowing holes through it. Does something exist that can be pluged inline with our setup to reduce to 220 volts? Thanks.
