Default I need some helpful input.

I am going to be purchasing a Hytech header in the month to come and my question is. since i am not producing 240 whp yet but i am planning on it should i buy spec I or spec II. spec I is for up to 240whp and spec II is for cars over 240whp.

thank you in advance

What is the difference in the headers and why is one rated for lower HP than the other? I am no expert but it sounds odd.....

i am not to sure about this either so i emailed them and this was the response i recieved

The difference is in the power levels you will run in your motor., Spec I is for power up to 240 whp and spec II for over 240 whp.

and that is all. that is why i decided to turn to h-t to see if anyone could figure it out.. haha

and the only info it actually gives on the header from the site is that it is a tri-y design and made from 304 stainless steal.

Haha, so they really don't even know the physical difference themselves. I would stay away from that if it was me....

If the header is part of what makes the power how can they say that such-and-such header will work better above 240hp and this other one will do better below 240? Is one header made for high rpms and the other for mid-range power? I;m confused

Different size piping, different length piping....thats my guess, however hytech probably doesnt want to advertise or disclose exactly what the differences are. Either way, if you plan on making over 240whp (at any point), go ahead and get that one. If you make 220-230whp it wont make that much of a difference on either header. Though I might be wrong and the difference is in the metal used (being that one might assume a higher hp engine has hotter EGTs).

Are you really serious about a 240whp build? That's pretty substantial.

I'd go with the small header, easier to fit

Yikes! Most any parts that will get you close to 300 are not going to work well with any other stock parts. Are you going to try to add parts one by one?

No, I'm not against boost at all. The face was because you're wanting an expensive header for a car you are going to boost and that just doesn't make sense.

Long face --->

so youre buying a hytech header but youre gonna boost the car?

why not go with something cheaper like dc or megan until you do boost it? jw

you know....i thought about it but then again i am not going to do my turbo build for at least a couple more years maybe even longer. so i really just want to make the most power that i can until i go boost. i might never end up doing it at all. i think the 1200 dollers is not a bad thing for me to spend on something that in the long run might be the only header i ever purchase.
