Clunking sound when I turn my wheel.
I got TEIN basics on my 02 RSX S about 3k ago. Theres a clunk sound whenever i turn my wheel. My coworker said it might be because the strut mounts that are on there right now are stock ones. Where can I find aftermarket strut mounts. Should they have come with the coilovers? Any other idea what is cause the clunkin noise?
Thanks
Thanks
Obviously something is loose/not on correctly.
Have someone turn the wheel and listen to where the noise is coming from.
Your co-worker doesn't know what they are talking about as those coilovers are designed to work with the OEM parts.

You realize that everytime you adjust your height, you throw your alignment off.
Who did the install? Take it back to them. There is one of many things that could be causing the sound and we can't keep randomly guessing at what it is.

Go to this website an scroll down to part Suspension Techniques Coils Silencer. The stock coils come with these on as well but its black and not seperated. I am going to buy them for my car soon cuz I got sound after installing my hotchkis springs. Good Luck. Get back if you try this an it works.

had that problem with my flex's... it was bcz the spring was not propoerly tightened all the way... make sure that the spring is sitting correctly(like twist it around) and make sure everything is tight from the strut mount to the plates that adjusts the height
I had that sound after I ran over a tracker trailer tire on the highway. In my instance it was a bent strut causing the sound. The strut would put stress on the spring when you would turn the wheel and once it was fully stressed it would pop and reposition its self.
i had this same probem exactly as you described....i installed skunk2 coilover sleeves. and the clunking was happening whenever i turned the wheel.
for me, it was a case of bad design on skunk2's part. sitting on top of the spring is an aluminum cap that doesn't turn with the spring. when you have your car lowered a lot, there is more compression and then when you turn the wheel, the clunking sound is the result of your steel springs rubbing up against the aluminum cap. the sound stopped when i raised the car about an inch.
but its probably something similar to this above ^
