well my engine check light pops up randomly and it only pops up when my car idles at 1500rpm. like it idles at 800 then out of nowhere it jumps to idleing at 1500 and my check engine light pops on, it doesnt always happen it just happens randomly. any help is appreciated

 

 

 

Its a soft code, things that can do this is a tps sensor, o2 sensor, and vss i believe (maybe a few more). Does your speedo work correctly? Hows your gas mileage?

 

my speed works fine, i get about 22 to 25 mph around 170

 

Can you use a multi-meter? If so try checking the tps sensor, the volt reading are in here somewhere.
