Default whats the best shift **** for summer?????

I'm thinking of getting a new shift **** for this summer cause mine was horrible in the sun last year. I'm not a fan of the newer leather wrapped one, was looking into the spoon but didn't know how bad that would be also
any idea's?
what do you guys have and how do you like them?

I bought a carbon fiber one from ebay for around $40 shipped. The carbon fiber ball screws on and shortens throws by 1/2 inch.

The Spoon Duracon never got burning hot, just warm when I have one. I'd suggest it, but the shift pattern is 5-speed. If you can live with that, you are good to go.

As long as the shift **** doesn't heat up quickly.. Should be an insulator I suppose

Actually it doesn't shorten throws. In order to shorten throws you need to move the shifter down on the other end of it, the part in the transmission.

Making the shifter shorter on the top end where you hold it just makes it harder to shift, because you have less leverage.

Does it matter? Not really, but it doesn't shorten the throw.

My M1 Abrams used to get ridiculously hot in the summer sun. I keep a little microfibre glove in the car and cover it when I get out. It really helps!

OP, I would get a Voodoo Aluminum for $40 or their Titanium one for $160. I love the spherical shape of them, plus you can get them engraved if you wish.

Chris, that's weird because titanium has a much lower thermal resistance. Should get hot really quick and cold really quick.

Note that most titanium ***** are just a layer of ti around a steel core. Titanium is actually significantly heavier than aluminum.

I got 19" of leverage right here.

Agreed. I have the Spoon Titanium shift ****, it's only hot or cold for about 10 seconds after I put my hand on it. Then it's fine.
