Default Muffler recomendations

I have an SNL twin loop on the car now with a full 2.5" mandrel exhaust on a cam/compression D16 making just under 150whp. Needless to say its really loud even with the twin look. SNL mufflers don't last that long, so I'm in the market for something new. I'd love to buy a hytech or mugen twin loop, but i cant justify that kind of money for a muffler for a civic.

What is the most quiet good flowing muffler that I can purchase for a reasonable price? I had a straight through oval magnflow on there before, i took it off after 2 weeks, it sounded like ***.

The vibrand is straight tru so it will be *** loud on a allmotor car.Apexi ws,rsr exmag, mugen twin loop or a custom fitted rsx-s muffler.

I tried a Dynomax Super Turbo after the Magnaflow can. It is a bit quieter, but still not really down to stock cat + exmag levels. Didn't seem to lose power with it.

it may sound good but it doesnt flow great .

my only advise is to get the bigest resonator you can fit under there , and a cat

if your after lot of power then there isnt much you can do as far as noise goes

Yea, I have the 22" magnaflow resonator that smsp sells under there with the twin loop. With a cam and higher compression, its still loud as hell.

I'm thinking about cutting open my SNY and restuffing it with higher quality sound deadening material. The reinforcing welds on it (since this muffler is kinda junky) Does anyone think thats worth the effort?

What do you guys think an SMSP 200 or 300 cell spun cat would do for sound reduction as well as power output?

i think thermal had this really big resonator...i saw it on a website a couple nights ago, but i cant find/remember the website...it was like the size of a muffler but its really a resonator...im sure something like that would help quiet down the noise a lot.

EDIT: It was a vibrant resonator.

Im running a full 2.5 setup with a 200 cell sms cat, 22" magnaflow res and 5x8x18 magnaflow muffler. It is definitely not as quiet as my old ws2 but its very tolerable and it sounds awesome, no raspyness what so ever. I can hear my intake over it at anything more than 50% throttle. Its on a 170whp b16.

Could be, could also be that most SOHC owners aren't as, well, knowledgeable...
