help me please
ok ive replaced everything battery, battery cable, starter, and it stopped for like 3 weeks i go to turn the key and all i get is click click click but if i bypass the starter solenoid it starts. i am stupmed someone help me could this me my main relay going out on me. myh car has a recall for my year car for a main realy so jus thought id ask
if the click is loud from the starter area it likely is a functioning selenoid, yet your starter is not activating. assuming that you have adequate battery voltage it should turn the flywheel.
a fully charged battery should have about 12.6 volts when measured with voltmeter, less than 12 v. may not allow starter to turn. check it.
also, your starter may be a bad reman unit even if it's selenoid it trying to activate it.
almost all starter replacements these days are lifetime reman. units.
my last one in another car, not honda, was intermittant out of the box for the first couple dozen starts. so i did the tap it with a rod trick when it did not start after attempting and it would start the next time. finally it started on every turn of the switch to date.
