accord wheel size
hi guys i have a 95 accord ex and i have a problem with wheel size and tires. right now i have some 18in whels with a tires size of 215/35/18. They look great but the ride is bad. I use to have some 17 with a tire size of 205/40/17 the rode decent but kinda looked small and when i shifted into second the chirped. i didn't kno if they where light or what. But what is the best size rim and tire that should fit and look good on the cd5 accords. also im gooing to slam my car too. Also if u guyz have pics lets see them.
215/35-18 and 205/40-17 are both a bit small for your car.
You need tires whose outer diameter is the same as your stock tires. If your '95 Accord EX is a four cylinder, it came with 195/60-15 tires stock, and for 18" wheels I would get 225/35-18. If it's a V6, it came with 205/60-15 stock, and for 18" wheels I would get 215/40-18.
If you're really looking for better ride comfort, the problem isn't the tire size; it's the huge bling bling wheels, which result in very short sidewalls on your tires. You can get better ride comfort if you get smaller wheels, particularly if you get 15" or 16", rather than 17" or 18". If this were my car, I would get rid of the big-*** wheels, and instead get 16x7 wheels, with 205/50-16 tires if it's a four cylinder, and with 205/55-16 tires if it's a V6. (If you go back to 17" wheels, the best tire sizes are 205/45-17 for a 4-cyl and 215/45-17 for a V6.)
The chirping when shifting is most likely caused by bad shifting technique and/or crappy tires.

nsxtasty's size suggestions would be good even with the drop but if you are worried about a stiff ride now and you are going to drop more. Seriously consider down sizing to the 17 or 16" setups. You'll notice better performance due to the weight reduction from your current setup and again you'll have a thicker side wall to absorb more of the inconsistencies in the road.

I agree with all of this (in case it wasn't already clear from my previous post).
