Please help with my 2000 passport question... (I know this is really an Isuzu)

Has anyone ever seen the "Reduced Power" light come on and then loose all drive power? This happened on and off during a road trip and almost left me stranded in the shasta mountains (By the grace of above... it got power back) and as soon as I arrived home it again lost all power.

I am ready to take it to a certified Honda mechanic tomorrow... but some advise would be greatly appreciated before I go in.
