Bolt snap blues... need help!
I've never liked the flimsiness of these bolts. What probably happened is that they were overtorqued at one point in time, this weakened the bolt, and then you went to torque it and snap!
One option is going with an aftermarket bar that ties onto the damper bolts themselves (ex. Spoon strut bar, Carbing, etc.) Otherwise, you're looking at drilling out the old one and putting in a new one. If you do this, just make sure that the new bolt strong, at least grade 8. HTH. Sorry about what happened, I've snapped the heads off bolts before and had to use an easy out to get the shank out. Talk about a pain in the ***.
