Of the 2, what is the safest choice among you hardcore racers.
The HANS or the LEATT device ?
The Leatt does not allow compression of the spine and seems to have more angles of protection at a cheaper price than a HANS. But Hans is the choice of a majority or top level racing.

Should this be any question?
HANS Device hands down, the new HANS also offers"sliding vision advantage plus" for more full range of head motion. 75.00 bux to upgrade existing models..
That's not gonna hurt your pocket book any there.
One caveat, this wont work on the extra large hans device.

the r3/ hutchens has too many straps for me.and I dont like the big bulk on the back between the seat requiring the cusion.
I feel the leatt MOTO R may be the safest , but it is relatively new.
Does a HANS protect the neck from the harness in an impact?

If you have a two inch belt you should be safe....
I have the Schroth Profi II-6 HANS.
The belt lays over the device instead of bunching up on the sides.
It that what you were asking JW?
See harness here.

Unfortunate, but true. This is one of the reasons why I picked a HANS, although it would have been a VERY tough decision if the Isaac was SFI certified.

i like my Hutchens Hybrid device; SFI & FIA certified, rates higher than HANS, ISAAC, and R3 in crashes, especially ones involving multiple impacts. i hope never to learn first-hand, though.
