12pt something or another.
Subscribing because I forgot what size I needed, and I need to re-torque my head.

FAIL

You need a 13mm 12pt deep socket and extension

That's odd. A 12mm socket worked fine for me...

However, just for you, I'll double check in the garage today.

I just checked; I used a 12mm socket for mine.

Also, when I first installed them, I didn't have the socket, so I tried to use a 1/2" (12.7mm) 12pt deep socket instead. It seemed to fit well, and the first 9 of 10 nuts were torqued down with no issues. However, I started to strip the last one as I approached 60 ft-lbs. When I bought the correct socket (12mm), it fit perfectly, and I never had had a problem (and I've reinstalled the head since then).

I don't see why they would vary between B series engines, but the ones I got for my B16A2 require a 13 mm, 12 point, deep socket. A 12 mm simply would not fit. By the way, I torqued all the way to 70 lb-ft without any slipping/stripping issues at all. If you're unsure, just take one of the nuts and test its fitment on different sockets. Oh, and you don't necessarily need a 1/2" drive. I had to use a 3/8" drive because that's the size of my good torque wrench.

If that's the case, maybe the b and d series ARP studs are different.

OP: what engine do you have?

I got mine from Summit Racing for $100. You can probably get them for a lower price via an eBay seller.

Why don't you just call ARP and ask? they will tell you exactly, and you wont have to risk stripping your nuts.

That would be too easy.
