October 2008 Team KO and the Blue Mountain SCCA will be sponsoring an Solo Event. It will be the at the Greater Reading Expo Center. Back Parking Lot.

 

I find it amusing that you don't post the actual date of the event, but do specify which parking lot

 

Just one event? Some of us were wondering what happened to Blue Mountain Region. I attended one of your event at Maple Grove back in the day.

 

Its scheduled for the October 11

but might change it to the first week of october. due to ..another auto cross event in NJ... Yet, most of the people in the region don't feel that it will effect us by more than a few people that wouldn't show up for this one.

It's tough to get any lot to run on around here. So when you do, you make sure that everyone knows about it and you don't lose money trying to host an event.

 

True. But the reason the Maple Grove event lost money was because it was sporatic. Sometimes you would get the lot and other times when we got there the event was cancelled. I know it wasn't your fault but it unfortunately comes back on you guys.

It will be good to see BMR host events again since I'm only 30 mins south of Reading.

 

Yeah, It cost a lot to rent the space and pay for insurance. We are planning a year out for that reason. We have no plans to lose money, yet if we break even this first year we would be happy cause we know the following year will just grow even bigger!

Everyone loved our Maple Grove meets, and this is the next phase of the event planning. BMR was more than thrilled to find out they were included in the plans we have had. I have attended many meetings and should be an official member soon. (I just have to register and pay)

Plus, This is the first Solo for BMR in years we should be attracting many people and lots of Honda people who haven't known about it or got the chance to do it.

 

Don't forget our events in lancaster, York and Harrisburg I'm the autocross chief for Appalachian Sports Car Club.

The one thing I didn't like about MGR was the rough surface. I thought my teeth would come out at one of your events

 

Its good to see another BMR autox! I was at the last event you had at maple grove a few years back and I loved the course. Now that the lot is repaved it should be alot smoother.

 

This lot is paved and in good condition just a couple places with bumps...that could be avoided it will be a big course.
