Default Issue putting my Accord in Gear.

On my 1996 Accord automatic it has started to where it doesn't seem to want to shift out of park. Any ideas on what this might be? I remember in my old bosses she had a problem like this that was the shift lock or something. It was a little newer though. Being that her and her husband owned the shop I worked at he just disconnected it. Is there anyway I can do something like this or what should I check out? Should I just have a shop look at it or is it an easy fix?

Found out I think it's the brake light switch as the brake lights don't work either and after some reading realized that it being bad will cause this problem also. Any idea on where to get one? I looked on TAS Auto and they only had ones for cars that don't have cruise control. The brake light switch is the correct switch right?
