Default OBD1 Oil pressure switch bypass

Well I have an oil pressure gauge in the car so i can monitor the oil pressure as i drive. The oil pressure switch is disconnected because that is where i am monitoring the oil pressure from. The car is making good pressure. I am using hondata S300J. With this you can pick vtec oil pressure switch enabled or disabled. I have the box not checked and vtec is not working. My question is with hondata do I still have to bypass the vtec solenoid or is it done through the software ??

You don't want to bypass the solenoid, just the pressure switch.

The reason it is there in the first place is not to just monitor overall oil pressure, but to make sure there is adequate oil pressure up in the head, right at the solenoid, so that it does not half-*** engage vtec.
