unless if you have some larger cams then setting the vtec a little higher, or with a turbo a little lower. once again tuning. so why spend all the money for a tune on the vtec, when for the same price, you can have your car completely tuned?

vtech controler wont do anything unless if you have alot of work done to your motor.

leave it stock unless you have more fuel and air going into it with bigger cams and injectors then consider hondata s200 or even s100

a VTEC controller is pointless even with larger cams. just tune it and your set.... no need to adjust it day by day. BTW its VTEC not vtech

thats ultimately what i was trying to say. thats why i said they dont do anything unless if you have a turbo car (with the vtec opened up a little sooner will allow more air in, but at most drop it 1000 rpm even thats a little much probably) thats why i also said that it would take a tune to see any gain with it. why spend all the money for a tune and the controler, when you can get a chipped ECU and get it tuned for roughly the same price. and look im sorry for the type-o, happens to everyone from point to point.

The best VTEC controller is the one that HONDA put into your ECU.

I am not going to get into a grammar war on H-T, but Jesus Christ. Vtech is not a typo .. ever. The "H" key is nowhere near the "C" at the end of VTEC. There is never a reason to put it there

/thread.

Honda made it where it is for a reason. VTEC controllers really just make the person feel "cool". They can not only hurt your gas mileage and power, but also your pocket

thats pretty ignorant, he asked a question.

i recently purchased a buddy club vtec controller, its not that expensive, i picked mine up for 35 bucks. my main reason for buying it was because i didnt have the right ecu and couldnt afford a new one and vtec was weird... nevermind my buddy club one is good ive also heard good things about apexi vafc...

While there are certainly better tuning options to choose from, a typical "VTEC controller" (e.g., V-AFC) is not as awful as most people here are making it seem, assuming it is used correctly. Yes, these controllers have several inherent flaws in their operation, but they can nevertheless be used to achieve relatively decent results.

One simply needs to keep in mind that they, like any other tuning device, need to actually be properly tuned in order to provide a benefit. They aren't something that you just buy, install, and play around with in your driveway.
