Question about car wash
Hello,
For those of you wash your own TSX, where did you purchase your washing materials? Are the stuff at Kragen or Autozone good? I purchased a Maguire car wash soap from Kragen yesterday, and was wondering is it ok to use it? Also, what type/kind of towel do you use to dry it so that it doesn't scratch the paint?
Thanks and sorry for the noob question. I washed my cars for many years but my gf just bought a brand new 08 TSX, and I don't want to use stuff that mess up her paint.

really depends on how zealous you plan to be keeping your car clean. most of the stuff you got is over-the-counter, which is serviceable. of course, if you want better results, you'll probably spend more on products from dedicated detail vendors.
all cars will eventually have swirls, but to minimize it, microfiber towels are the best for drying and removing wax/polish. when washing, i usually use a sheepskin mitt since it's soft and easy on the paint.
if you google 'car detailing,' you'll probably find plenty of sites with info on taking care of your car. some good sites that offer how-to's are autogeek.net and i think auto-topia or something. they have some good how-to's and tips on washing/waxing.

there are tons of options out there for car wash soaps, waxes, polishes and also all kinds of towels and drying techniques.
I use meguiars NXT car soap it has some wax in the wash.
of course pre rinse well. then I use a microfiber mitt and wash the entire car in the shade. after that I take the spray nozzle off the hose and just let the water stream over the car and it get almost all the water off. then I go back and finish drying with a microfiber towel.
as for waxes
for me it was meguiars NXT line for the first two years of my 05's life, and just recently I'm trying four star utilmate Paint protection.
a full detail is a long story but this should do you for now.
