my buddy is boosting his stock ls block 300+ daily driver car he wants to run a s2s2 or a pro 1 cam's plz tell him the most aggressive cam he can run without knotching the oem pistons i told him personally that he would probably run into an issue just using oem type-r cams he think's clearance of piston to valve will be fine plz jus give him little experience and knowledge for i give up
I am not sure if this is a joke but might wanna do some more search. Stock ls block and Type r cams dont work period. I think both of guys are wrong!

I think the stock cam for that engine would work just fine, infact cams meant for high NA horsepower arent that good on turbo applications.

Pro 1's have been done before with good results. To answer your question, you can do it. I would recommend springs and retainers. Might have a little trouble with tuning the idle.

With the stock LS pistons, you're asking for trouble running ITR or larger cams. Piston to valve contact is common with that combination.
