yep. i own that second set..lol...and i don't even know what the hell the name is haha.... ugly but original and some what rare. i believe the second one accepts a center plate/cap of some sort..the only tag i see on the inner barrel is the old 6.5j and A offset decal and of couse, the old "speed star" stamp on the back of the hub....

Nice. That actually isn't Kanji. It is Katakana . Never the less, it says "Type." So Speed Star Type A?

After searching I found these...They are also type A. So apparently this doesnt really help. I'm finding a bunch of different old-school SSR's that are also type A. I guess as the was posted above, the type has to do with the offset.

Oh yeah...duh.. I used to study katakana for 2yrs in high school...lol. Yeah, makes sense... type A tells us the offset which is probably more less 10. When I saw the yahoo japan listing for the first set pictured, the title and body stated the rim as an ssr 'speeder fin' but I'm unsure if that was just a general description or what .... :shrugs:

Bro. I literally went through one of my Japanese parts catalogs/classifieds to see if I could find this ****, but nothing. I'll show you pics of one of my catalogs later. I literally looked through 1000+ pics! I'm really into figuring this **** out though.

If you have the original seller's info on Yahoo Japan, I can contact him and find out. We will get to the bottom of this
