Has anyone tried cutting out the stock headlight glare shields on an EK, and only used the shield that comes with an H4 kit? Just wondering because I have an HID kit in right now and the output is great, but the bulb is buried behind 2 shields. Who knows, it might be even better with just one shield?

</TD></TR></TABLE>my buddy did this on his em1, it was pretty blinding. not really from a glare off the reflector, cause he still had the lower shield. it was just blinding cause you could actually see the hid capsule illuminated.

9006's are low beam only, the reflector in most cases (my brothers intrepid has a minor shield) has a shield but also the optics of the lens are designed around the full output of the bulb. H4's are dual filament bulbs and if you ever look at one you'll see the low beam filament (farthest from the base) has a lil shield pan sitting under the filament.
Also a full nose cone shield is alot better than the T shaped OE shield, I've see a kit with just a lower shield in a 99-00's headlights and the T shield infront of the bulb didn't limit the light output forwards thus causing light to escape forward uncontrolled causing glare...
