This car is very unique and definetly a fun car to drive. Its diffrent from all 3s's because its a non-turbo SL converted into basically a VR4 - TT AWD, but it doesnt have the 4WS. Its super healthy and does not burn 1 bit of oil at idle or WOT. This car was originally owned by a 26 year old chinease guy that lived in Queens, NY. He had his 92 SL and starting modding it slowly but surely, his friend who had a 94 VR4 crashed his car and was parting it out due to being totaled...he took the low mileage engine off his friend for dirt cheap and went forth with researching how to do a full VR4 swap, after a few days of researching and calling local performance shops he started getting things going, he had a local shop install the VR4 swap in with 6 speed tranny and AWD. He installed some minor mods after, but nothing major. He wanted to keep the car around stock and get used to it a little before he went further with it. After having the car for about a year after having the swap put in he started to lose intrest in the car, and commuting to college was getting expensive in a v6-tt and living in the city didnt help when he woke up to a new spider crack in the paint every morning from people skimming his car or hitting it accidently. After going threw 1 paint job and 2 bumpers he had enough, he posted the car on craigs list and I was lucky to find it. The best thing about this car is the BIG insurance break. Call me a liar but with 6 points on my license for speeding and 1 accident on record liability for this car with AIG was only 65$ a month!!!! CHEAPER then a CIVIC!!! I laughed when my agent told me, inside I was giggling like a little kid knowing I had a twin turbo monster on the road for chump change. I have never had 1 engine mechanical problem since I got the car about 8 months ago and it runs 100% MINT with not 1 problem or issue. All the rubber hoses, vacum lines, and belts were replaced when the swap went in (approx. 20k miles ago). Oil changes were done every 2,300 miles and the car was ALWAYS garaged since I bought it). The interior is 8/10...driver and passenger side seat is in pretty good condition besides a tear in the driver seat that can be patched, its not all wore and nasty looking. The paint on the car is in 7/10 condition only because theres chips n scratches/spider cracks in it. The color hides alot and you really dont even notice. I have never driven this in snow and the previous owner said he would but not if there was more then 3 inches of snow. If you have any questions about this car feel free to reply or PM me.
The BAD :
-Needs new brakes and rotors...as of right now their fine but will need replacing.
-Rip in driver seat, and passenger + driver seat have some leather wear.
-Paint job has some spider cracks and chip/scratches...but the color hides alot so a new paint job isnt really needed
-Tempeture gauge is messed up and before you even turn the car on it goes up passed hot because when I installed the glow gauges in the dash I winded up the pin by accident so now it rises up once it gets power, it can be fixed in under 2 hours, its just a pain getting to it. The other 2 gauges in the dash are fine.
