is this jacket about as safe as a leather one? its got a good core and armor.. or would this be a good summer jacket, then get a real leather one as well?

id say as long as its got hard padding in the shoulders and elbows and at least soft padding on the back it would be as safe as most leather jackets. i would personally stay away from it just because i dont like sporting logos that flashy unless im gettin paid for it and also corona is beer for drunk white girls

Leather will protect you the most when sliding across the asphalt, however imo any gear is better than none.

To be honest with you a lot of the perforated leather jackets will breath almost as well as textile jackets and unless your at a dead stop you won't be able to tell a difference. I don't mind the look of that Joe Rocket jacket though so it just depends on if you want to have multiple jackets or not...if not I'd say just go for a perforated leather with a removable liner and be done with it.
