Default 1995 LX Auto I4 - Harsh shifts

My 1995 LX (Auto, I4) - has Harsh shifts. The car kind-of jerks when the gear shifts. However, when warm it shifts a bit smoother, not really smooth, but just a bit smoother. Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

DG the solenoids on the trans. It is suppose to be a little harsh until the slush box and fluids warm up.

drain and fill 3x driving about 25 miles in between. with the last fill add 1 can of lubeguard for imports. that will cure most of the problem

timing and throttle are not retarded during shift on those car so they shift firm to begin with

Happy to report that just one drain-fill has had remarkable effect on shifting.
I plan on doing another drain and fill in about a week or so.
