My car is still under warranty, so the dealer agreed to replace the stripped driver's side wiper arm. One day I turned it on, and on the 2nd stroke, the driver's side arm just stopped while the passenger side continued.
Unfortunately, the arm wasn't in stock, so it would be a couple of days. And to add to that, it's going to rain as well. The arm arrived today, but they aren't available to put it on until Monday morning. That means, if there is any rain this weekend, I may be stuck 60 miles away from home at my girlfriend's house. Should I just tough it out and have them do it on Monday, or install it myself?
Now before you flame me for not installing a simple piece of equipment, let me tell you that I can definitely do it. I have swapped engines, suspension, installed turbos, etc. Funny thing is, I never installed a wiper arm. Does it have to be "aligned" perfectly? I don't want to install it wrong, turn it on, and then have the wiper go down and wipe my hood.
Why is this a thread? I have no idea.

If you dont feel like instaling it then get some rain-x and whipe down your windshield with it. This will help you tough it out if it rains. Instaling it is easy take the old off and put on the new. Dont worry too much about the allignment. Just try to put the new one one as close as possible to the old ones possition. Then turn on your blades and C if you need to adjust/realign it more. Its super simple and supper easy.

Thank you for your post. I entirely forgot about RainX. Fortunately, my dad let me borrow his car over the weekend, and I get to use it driving into NYC rather than using my car.
I'm going to have the dealer take care of it on Monday morning, and just drop it off before work. I did print out the service manual's instructions to replace the arm, and it was just as easy as you stated. Doesn't look like anyone can really mess that one up. Thanks!
