I have a JDM. I was wondering if the JDMs are any different from the others? If so, was it a bad-buy ?
Thanks for indulging a newbie...

Some JDM models are a lot different from what was released here in the US. Some were pretty closely related.
No, I wouldn't say it was a bad buy.
What year/model/trim did you buy?

are you sure it's JDM? Is the steering wheel on the right or the left?
Not saying your lying, just that some people will say anything when selling a car if they think it will help the sale and if they think the person will believe it. They could have some "JDM" parts on it, but sounds like it may be just a normal 95 LX which isn't bad either. I don't know the trim levels that were available in Japan. But I also dont see the point in importing anything but the SiR in those years.

Thanks for the reply... and sorry for not seeing this earlier.
Actually, I am assuming it is a JDM, because the VIN starts like that JDM...
I hope I am right in assuming that. If not, I will be more at peace

I don't have my manual in front of me but that probably just means it was assembled in Japan. I want to say mine had 1HG at the beginning of the VIN which indicated it was assembled here in the US. I will have to double check this in my manual later when I get home.
If you look at the 4th 5th and 6th digits in your VIN it should read either CD5 (Sedan) or CD7 (Coupe). If so, you have a USDM Accord.
Also, you never said, is the steering wheel on the right or left of the car?

Steering wheel on the left... like any normal car from US. Sorry, I thought you were kidding...
Yes, the 456 are CD5. Also, the VIN reads JHM... and not JDM. I got confused with my CRV which goes JDM... sorry about it.

haha, no, I wasn't kidding. In Japan the cars are right hand drive, meaning the steering wheel is on the right. So if you had a JDM Accord it would have the steering wheel on the right.
So you have a US spec 1995 Accord LX Sedan with the F22B2 engine
You are in the right place

yes, I'm pretty sure the JHM means it was assembled in Japan. I can verify that later when I get home though if you'd like.
No, it doesn't make it any different.
Speaking about manuals, a service manual from Helm Inc. is the best manual you can buy. More expensive that say a Haynes but it's got much more info and detailed step-by-step instruction on many repairs. It pays for itself in the money you'll save by not having to pay labor rates at shops.

I'll appreciate if you could verify it.
Items I plan on owning soon:
Helm's manual
Crank-nut removing tool
OBD-II scanner (software version?)
Anything I should add to the list - e.g., special tools?

uh, ODB-II didn't start until 96 so you can scratch that OFF the list. You retrieve the error codes by jumping the service connector. I used a female plug off and old harness to match the male plug service connector and then looped the wire, but you can just simply use a paper clip as well.
So you plan on doing a timing belt on the car? If so, take a look at my write-up which can be located in the FAQ. I have a list of tools you will need.
For the most part though, a basic set of 6pt metric regular and deep sockets should do you well for most of the Accord. Some wrenches wouldn't hurt either, but for the most part a ratchet will fit into most places.

Oh... thanks! So no OBD-II.
I wish I had joined the forum earlier...
I bought the LX and spent ~$600 for timing belt (all belts), water pump, all seals (including valve cover), sparkplugs, spark plug wires, rotor cover etc. etc.
Yes, I saw your tutorial... wonderfully well written. Thanks! I've book marked it...
