Has any one used this header yet? http://www.lovefab.com/html/bheader.html Im not ready to trade in my SSR/DTR but it looks like a decent piece, might be intesting to see some dyno results

Looks like it is made of sch 10, lol. Keep what you got unless you want to buy a 50 pound header.

r u guys seriously conserned about the weight of the header? i would be more consider about the light headers than the heavy ones. the heavy one won't crack and is alot stronger than ur average light cheap header. a few friends of mine have used some love fab stuff with great results. thats the type of header you buy and have for a long time.

my topmount is made out of the same material and is about 2 times heavier than an average all motor header...and the top mount isnt quite as big as a full header running under the car

Looks to be top notch, I'd love to see how it stacks up to some of the other top makes

years ago i contacted Cody to make me a custom NA header. i gave him the general dimensions and paid upfront. granted, his service may be better now, but it took him several months longer than he originally told me, it never fit, and when i offered to bring it back to him in person and help him fix it for me, yet again he told me there would be a delay of at least another month; he had other work/orders to fill. to add insult to injury, i saw him at the track where he proposed that to help it clear the clutch slave cylinder i should just dent one of the primaries with a ball-peen hammer. he said that he'd really wished that i just went FI and bought one of his shelf turbo headers. i ended up taking it to a local guy and spending a few hundred more to have it fixed to fit. ...but, the welds are good.

The lovefab header is no where close to the dtr header.I would bet 10 hp down from a dtr or an sms.On a 200 hp motor

Problem is that thicker the pipe, less power it will make.

For power producion the best header will have thinnest pipe that is possible without cracking...

Interesting........
Anything to do with resonance?

Hey can you elaborate on this statement and maybe show some dyno or other sort of physical results? Does it have to do with thermal dynamics, resonance or something else?

I'm planing on trying my hand at building a crude set of headers myself and would love to know why thinner is better. And if it is how thin is too thin. The material that I plan on using is 18 gauge 304 SS.

and probably 10 down to an RMF narrow too.

i agree, id like to see some dynos before everyone rips this thing apart. it looks good. and you have no idea how thick it is. one reason it may look that was is because of the stepped primaries, makes it look larger.

this looks almost identical to a header we made for my car last summer, and it made 10whp more over my 4-2-1.

edit; now i see where they say its made with thick wall stainless, idk wtf they did that for? mine is ultra thin.

For the design, it looks like it offers very poor ground clearance. Depending on motor size, I think there might be some better options for you. Did Danny build your manifold specifically for your motor? Allot of Danny's manifolds(from what I've seen), are more of a top end/drag race header.

the thickness of the tubing has more to to with header design than sound waves and return pulses..When the tubing is thinner that makes the I.D. bigger.Say you have a B16 and its made out of 1 3/4 .Now you wouldnt want it out of 18ga because that would be a touch big for a 160 hp b16.So you would use either 16ga or 14 ga tubing. And live with the weight. You can also mess with collector exits to kinda fake the tube size. But when you have you optimum header size Yes the thinner the better. It helps generate the sound wave that is damn near as strong as the power pulse itself.

I'd be skeptical. A guy that builds turbo manifolds with little R&D behind them (see Full-Race's for R&D) who is now building a header...

Wow guys you came up with quite a bit of info and I actually learned a few things. I wont be trading in my SSR/DTR anytime soon, in my book Danny's headers are great and after visiting his shop a while back I saw the pride he puts into his projects. Not saying that the other builders out there arent good Im just saying SSR is the one I choose.
