Default Just picked up this Gs-R

CAR WAS STOLEN AND RECOVERED RECENTLY!!!
Heres the thread.

http://www.hondamarketplace.com/show....php?t=2536476

F*CK THIEVES!!!

Yesterday i just bought this 95' Gs-R.

Ok. When i saw the car at dealer i asked the salesman how much it was.

Salesman: "O. This car is not for sale"
Me: "why not?"
Salesman: "Because this car just got traded in two days ago and it has to go through inspection and smog etc."
Me: "Can i look at the Engine?"
Salesman: "Sure go ahead!

So im thinking its a Gs-R or Ls-Vtec inside. I open the hood...

Then im like Whaa??? H22? WTF? I check the block code. Then i find out its a H23 block with a H22 head. Then i start thinking why did this guy trade this car in like this? Its a Clean 95 Gs-R with a H23 Vtec w/an intake and exhaust. Lowered on the Gram Light copies wrapped in Falken Azenis with 60% tread in the front and 75% in the rear. 98 front bumper with [halos ]. and GM C-Pillar bar.

Me: "So you wouldnt sell it to me as is?"
Salesman: "You know what... Let me ask my manager."

So im waiting for the manager. He gets there.

Manager: " So i see you like this little race car huh!"
Me: "well yea. How much do you want to sell it for as is?"
Manager: "how much money do you have to spend?"
Me: "About 3 to 4 grand."
Manager: " We could work something out. Hold on ill be right back.

So im waiting here for about 20 mins. He comes back. And im thinking they want alot for it.

Manager: " I will sell it to you for $4000."
Me: " Ok. sounds good! You know what... ill be right back.
Manager: " K

So i go pull out my freaking life savings of $3500 haha. Then go back to the dealer and buy the car for $3500

Some eye candy for you

Match up the paint and get a wing on the back. Those holes on the hatch need some fixin ! Not a bad deal though, wonder how much power it makes. Dealers rarely seem to give guys good deals. Do wonder why the other guy traded it in so cheaply though. You do a leak down or compression yet?

As for the power it makes it pretty good. On the way to work i pulled on a new s2000 by 2 cars. As for the person who had it i think just wanted a new car. I think the person didnt really knew what they had. And it they had kids because i found a baby bottle in the back seat and crayon scribblings on the Roof panel. So im guessing it was someones project. Sold it to some Family person... and maybe they needed a bigger car? i ono just guessing... i havent had time to do a leak down yet. the car is parked and im not driving it yet until i register it and insure it. but i will be doing a leakdown and comp. test asap

Pretty nice find. I would be really skeptical of the swap just because you never know what someone did to it, but for that price stuff can be fixed down the line as well...

i agree....

i also give you a for pissing away your "life savings"

hopefully by some chance you don't have a million and 1 problems with the thing, but if not, then now that you blew all the cash on it, GL fixing it

may sound rude but you should have bought stock....

Not a bad deal at all from what I've read... the previous owner probably did just want a newer car. I was about to trade my car and some cash for an RSX Type-S back in early December. The dealer only wanted to give me about $2k for my car, I didnt care cause it was a newer car. I got a 94 Teg, 98-01 exterior (bumpers, lights, mirors), gsr motor, KYB-AGX w/ Eibach springs, Edelbrock headers, S2 manifold, DC bars all around, after market control arms, wheels, and more... But I figured I put too much work and I still want to do so much more. Good luck w/ the car bro.

I'm digging the Gram Lights that's for sure, but USDM front > JDM front.

Everyone's always switching to JDM front once when they get their Integra. It came out of the factory that way, so leave it as it is. There are already too many Accords roaming around in SoCal lately.

could be a deal, but considering a gsr shell is only about a grand, h22 motor about another grand, so all in all you spent 3500 for it...i'd say you lost money on the car but then again if you like it then its good...you spent your money on something you really like...i personally would not have bought the car...

I will be getting it painted probably by the end of this month.

Perfect time for tax season when peeps have the extra cash to spend

Hmm thats funny ive never seen a clean title Gs-R shell for sale for about a grand or a H23/H22a head for about a grand.

Considering its in the car running with mods. Including labor cost. And drives smooth and clean.

If you find a deal like that can you please let me know.

I will be happy to buy it and make profit off of it.

I've always wanted to do that motor setup. h23 bottom end with h22 head. Like my brother said to me, "if the car is meant to be for you, it'll be your's." The engine bay shot looks clean and for some stupid reason, its a better thing you bought it from a dealer rather than a private seller. BUT, the fact that it wasn't inspected by the dealer, it's basically the same thing.

if it makes you happy man. good luck with the car!!

Well ive always wanted to da a B20 VTEC set up because im more of a B-Series Fan.

But i will Take the bigger H-Series Block and Type S head for now.

Im having thoughts of Boosting it in the future but i have to do more research before i get into that. Not Sure if the cylinder walls can take it because its a 2.3L. Etc...

But first things first. Got to finish one car before i start on this one.
