Default Genuine Honda PS fluid?

It says to only use the Genuine Honda powersteering fluid. Can I use regular PS fluid instead of going to the stealership?

No only use genuine OE Honda. You'll destroy the pump's seals if you don't which WILL cause it to leak.

It's cheap too....like only $2.35 at the dealer.

I'm guessing your PS pump is already leaking?

If you don't want to go to the dealer you can get PS fluid made for Honda vehicles at any parts store. DO NOT just use regular PS fluid.

No, its not leaking. I just had some extra STP ps fluid and just topped off my resevoir. I put hardly any in there. It hasnt foamed, and its running fine. For now on, I'll buy real Honda fluid.

Should i have anything to worry about right now?

My family had my accord since day 1 in 1990 and we have been using Non-Honda PS fluid for the last 18 years no leaks and no problems.

I would go with honda genuine fluids, it doesnt cost much. Not only do you get fluids that have been R and D by Honda the fluids such as PSF is provided by Mobil so you know you got the best stuff and not just an ordinary gray bottle.
