im going to use a H22 havent dicided if i want to pay extra for a OBD2 motor though or if i just want to buy a OBD1 H22 and do some extra wiring. As far as the adapter kit im going with QSD. For the Tranny i havent picked one out yet most like B16 or GSR.
I got board this morning so got a few things done on the car.

Removed my airbags and airbag wiring

Painted my fuel pump cover black

Got rid of the sound stuff... not sure what its called and i gutted the rest of the car.

How the engine bay looks after cleaning, a few trips to the junkyard, some spray paint, and new motor mounts.

yeah the airbags were removed not only to save wieght but they will be usless when i put on a aftermarket steering wheel. On the passanger side i want to get a block off plate i know password jdm sells one. Im hoping to road race the crap out of the car when its done and other then that its going to be a weekend car thats why i gutted everything. Daily comfort isent exactly importaint thats what i have my 4door EF for.
I got my T mount from Honda today. I have to go back though cuz i realized i need a bracket fot the side of the trans as well so it will bolt up the the mounts. I always seem to forget something.
wud up mikey mike, nice setup...wow all of a sudden everyone wants to do an H2B lol...its gonna be sick...what kind of mods are u doin to the H22 or are u keepin it stock at first?
its going to be stock at first with basic bolt ons but i prolly throw some cams in later on.
Anyway im stealing your avitar and you better hold on to B16 tranny for me... lol

My shift linkage and Flywheel came today. Flywheel needs to be resurfaced and my linkage needs a few parts still. My girlfriend works at honda though so i should be able to get the flywheel redone for free and parts at a discount

looking good bro...and u got some competition for my trans...i think alex with the black GSR wants it too...no sweat though cuz i rather give it to someone who is actually gonna use it and have a fast car lol
So if you're putting in another wheel, why bother removing the drivers side?
And pulling the passenger side saves what, 1.5 pounds? At the expense of safety, and you have a big *** piece missing from the dash to boot.
I want to understand. Seriously. Tell me it saves like 30 pounds or something. But if all it saves is a big mac at lunch for a week, just seems like a bad idea.
If you're ACTUALLY going to road race it (unlike the 90% of HT that SAYS that then never sees a track) it would make sense as airbags can then be looked at as a safety issue in an off track event. But that also assumes that the passenger will be in a harness.
Anyway. have fun with the build. Thanks for posting pogress pictures.

Since your making such a big deal about this I put it on a scale this morning it weighs 8.5 pounds. The driver’s side one is much less but the only reason I removed that is for an aftermarket steering wheel. As far as a piece missing in my dash im buying the block off plate password JDM sells. The car is also ACTUALLY going to be road raced I went last year and now im hooked. Maybe me removing the airbags would make more sense if you just keep up with the build later on im putting in a Sparco sprint seat, Sparco harness, and custom harness bar. Most of the time there wont even is a passenger in the car but if it really concerns you there will be a harness for them as well.
I put on the carbon fiber hatch on today looks good but i still need to tweek the latch dosent close that great yet. I also convinced my dad to let me roll it into the garage which means i can work on the car at night. Hopefully my MR2 sells this weekend and i can order my h2b kit and buy the motor.
Anyway heres some pics of the hatch on the car.

Not that great cuz it was dark out by the time i was done but you get the idea.

You do realize you can remove the stock cover from the airbag and replace it without the airbag in place. And it is pretty heavy. Not crazy but - why not ? Every little pound helps in the long run
Nice build man, keep it up
