****POLISHED UP THE BLADES****
I POSTED THIS IN THE WHEEL THREAD BUT WANTED TO SHOW YOU GUYS WHAT I WAS WORKING ON.
Took on a little project last weekend. Took about 5 days but it was well worth it.
The blades were all worn and scratched up. Clear coat was cracking and what not. Heres the process. ENJOY.
What they looked like before
Airplane stipper!
First wet sanding process
After a couple passes on wet sanding with a low grit(320) no pics of 400 grit
Third passes with a higher grit(600)
Fourth pass with another higher grit(800)
Finished with 1000 grit and polished with MOTHERS

Mounted on the car. Looks good
Hope you liked it. Fingers are cramped up but it think its well worth it. Tell me what you think

Goodluck with the wheels. Post them when your done.. BTW, if your plannning to do it with others, make sure they got patience and a steady hand.. you do not want to rush this or skip steps.. and make sure you sand them down with medium pressure, not with alot of force.. trust me on this

what do you think he stripped off to begin with? yes you need to put clear coat on them. it keeps it maintenance free and they will always shine. if you just leave the clear coat off you will constantly be polishing them to look almost as shiny as if there was clear coat on them. take my advice brethren ive been painting cars and **** for 8 years. and if you wanted to speed the process up this is what i would do. take all four wheels off, strip the clear off all of them, hose them down. use a drill and a wire wheel or some kind of attatchment and then polish it out. buy a can of automotive clear from autozone or something and spray it on. from there you can buff that out if you want but i dont reccomend it. if you do a good job sprayin they will be shiny and maintenance free.
