Lets weigh it against the deal. How much can you get it for, and does it have a transmission?

I'm trading my crx I dont need. Its nearly a complete long block, no tranny, so I could just buy a hydro tranny so I wouldnt have to convert to cable.

I would just offer him money and put it in the CRX.

I don't know much about swaps, so I don't know what the hassles of using an OBD0 engine are. However, as for the value of the trade, what's the KBB on your CRX and what's the estimated mileage/condition of the engine. An OBD0 isn't gonna be worth much at all. Have you done compression and leakdown tests yet?

obd0 B16 in a EK is a terrible idea. First off your gonna need a ton of parts - axles, mounts, brackets, OBD conversion harness, chipped ECU, Harness modification. And the end result will not be that great. So unless he is pulling it from an EK your gonna need a ton of cash! Not to mention no tranny! A B16 ONLY performs well with a b16 tranny (unless its boosted) and a hydro b16 tranny alone will cost around $500 or more.

Either put the b16 in the REX

or

Y don't you pick up an LS swap or a B20 longblock and piece together a swap for it.

Why is it only NEARLY complete longblock? Isn't it out of a running car?

not only all that it is a obd2 car if u have emmissions u will not pass and they wont let u drive ur car anymore. i would say go with a obd2 engine in a obd2 car. obd2 is checked by computer and obd0 is checked by exhast tube, correct me if i am wrong. good luck i would keep the rex and put the b16 in that

OMG!! I getting so sick and tired of seeing members on this forum trying to tell people that they need to convert there car to the obd model and so forth or to throw away a good deal on a motor just because the obd is different.

TOTAL B.S!

O.P,
I see that you have a obdII car and an OBD0 motor ( I think) You do not need some coversion harness to put this motor in your car. Screw what all these **** are saying.

If you go to your local junk yard you can fin every thing to convert your motor to OBDII with out having to sacrifice you car any,

This is what your going to need to find.

1. Any honda OBDII alternator
2. Any dohc vtec injectors
3. Any dohc vtec distributor
4. Any Honda OBDII throtle Body (map is different) I believe dont quote me

After you get these things you can convert your obd0 motor to obd2 and wont have to splice anything, wreck anything and it will be a direct replacement swap,
Gathering you have everything else to do the swap.

If you have any questions feel free to pm me, i will be glad to help
