99 d16y8 in 97 civic hx

I wanted to put a 99 d16y8 motor into my 97 hx(vtec-e). Do I need to take out the dash and replace all the wire behind the firewall? I notice the wire looks different.

no u dont have to, i had a 99 d16y8 in my 97 ex coupe n it was plug n play, all u need is an ex ecu i think
