at idle motor tends to shake alot and why???
ok the car is a 1998 with about 150k miles on it. car runs fine but when im at a complete stop and just idling the motor tends to shake a lot. what can be the cause of this? maybe a bad motor mount?. it seems to shake most on the driver side motor mounts next to the cam gears but that mount looks fine to me though so im stuck. (this car is not used to race its only a commuter and its an automatic so it has no abusing to it) any help or suggestions will be appreicated.
Could be mounts. Could also be the problem with the cylinder as in your other thread too though. My girlfriends car was running on 3 cylinders and ran fine but when idling it ran like a tractor shaking all over the show

I still wouldn't rule it out. The ecu may have picked up the problem before it got as bad as causing the shaking. Just a thought though...
