Oil pan gasket or gasket maker?
My oil pan has some oil around it. and Im down a quart since my last oil change, about 1,300 ago. I prolly burned a bit of oil holdin in redline for a while. But there is oil around my oil pan. So I figured when I do my 45k tuneup...which is time for an oil change too, that I would fix this problem. Also, how would I go about getting to it? My helms will be getting order a lil later today...
go to honda or checker or whever, and order it. then get some gasket maker (rtv). That's all you need. torque the bolts to 8 ft/lbs. torque the drain plug to 33. should solve your problem.
Remove the lower portion of the exhaust manifold/header or the whole header if it's a 1 piece.
Drain oil.
Remove oil pan.
I've got a brand new oil pan gasket from my GS-R you can buy for $15 shipped. That's $3.xx less than Acura Carland, which still doesn't the S&H charges on top of that.
I didn't realize the Mugen oil pans already came with a drain bolt and gasket.
Edit: Buy 2 cans of brake parts cleaner to help you clean the area up.
