Default Not just the usual 3rd gear grind

Searched and found but the problem is all the topics that were on grinding was that 3rd gear would grind at high rpm and mine grinds at low rpms like around 3500 to 4200. Ever since I've had my 95 gsr it has always had the grind at high rpms but just recently it grinds at low rpms rarely but still embarrassing because it sounds like I can't drive manual when it grinds and revs. I'm pretty sure it might be the syncros but thats not the only problem.

Also my first gear doesn't always go in at a stop sometimes I'm at a red light and when it turns green I stay there trying to get my car in gear while cars are behind me honking.

Now my question is could it be the clutch and suncros? Or should I just get another tranny? If so would a B16 tranny be good or should I just get another gsr one?

Thanks in advance, any input is welcome

if the money is there..rebuilt it from a reputable shop because it will have a warranty for atleast 12 months depending on where you go.

Alot of hondas have gear issues as u seem to know already..temp. is an issue i think gears tend to stick in most cars at times.

Have you tried a thicker gear oil? Sometimes a very heavy oil may help in lower or higher or both. It helped my prelude in lower rpm but not above like 3.5k rpm in 3rd..GL

I use Lucas oil, I even put in non-slip oil and still nothing but I'm not too sure if it is thick enough though

try some syncromesh additive first......but if you have to, b16 tranny that is in good shape (no grinds) would be nice...rebuilt w/ warranty would be nice too though

Bra real talk...not to sound like an ***....if the tranny has been grinding from the get-go you had to know that something was wrong...if its just 3rd gear its maybe the syncros...but yeah that thing at the stop light has happened to me twice since i bought my DB about a month ago but after I changed my tranny oil with that Honda MTF stuff its been shifting like butter try it out
