Bluebatmobile Overlays for 8th Gens
I was browsing maxima.org because my daily driver is a Nissan Maxima and I ran across this thread on Bluebatmobile overlays. When I saw it I was like wtf are they talking about?! Then I clicked on the link and saw the pics. I think they look cool but they don't make overlays for my 6th Gen Si and only for the 8th Gen. Also, I've seen several threads in here about doing something like this to headlights and taillights, so I thought you guys might be interested. Looks like they make overlays for several parts including the headlights, taillights, sidemarkers, front and rear bumpers, roof, etc. Check out the link...

Not sure how the law is for your state. Down here police don't make a big deal out of it. I've had a police cruiser behind me for several minutes at night a couple of times and they don't seem to mind at all. During the day the tint on the taillights and headlights actually look pretty dark when looking at it. But you'll be surprised at how much light actually shows through them. It's not unsafe at all. Plus you still have the spoiler brake light as well which still illuminates fully unless you tint that also.
I have a blackout kit on my taillights and I would estimate that roughly 80% of the light still shines through. But some states might not allow ANY tint on your taillights or headlights, while others might allow it as long as a certain amount of light is still visible. Check with your local laws first.
Let me know if you want some pics and i'll take some day and night pics!

rico, do you have a couple or sedan? i have a coupe and id like to see some pics of tints on a coupe. i mean, the sites where you buy tints always have pictures, but im not sure if it will actually look that good on my car. i guess, id like pics either way, whether you have an FG or FA

thanks man. also, when you post the pics, can you post a link to where you got your tints. because, if i like how yours look, than i will probably buy from the same source.
Well in my good nature...(**ahem**)....I have decided to take the night pictures tonight. I'll have the daytime pics up later tomorrow. The tint was just done by a local tinter. It wasn't purchased. I had purchased the Lamin-x from Corsport, but it didn't work out to well for me. So I took it to the tinter and had him match the exact shade on the Lamin-x blackout I had ordered.
This is without brake lights........

And WITH brake lights on...........

There is a noticeable difference between the two brightness levels. And of course the spoiler light helps as well. The difference between the spoiler light output and the taillights' output is almost un-noticeable. My mediokre cell phone camera just happened to be pointed directly at the spoiler light....so it seems a little brighter than what it actually is.
All in all you lose a little brightness in your light output....but only VERY LITTLE. I have had no problems whatsoever with law enforcement....day OR night.
Daytime pics will be up soon.

light tint isnt very new, thats what alot of people use on their foglights to make them "jdm" yellow, i belive the company is laminx or something??? maybe not i dont really pay attention to that stuff so i dont know the exact companys.
it really depends on the cops preferences where your located, probably more likely to be pulled over during the daytime or dusk becaus they can see you expletiveed with your lights

and laminx or whatever company that sells it alot what they actualy sell is just pieces of vynil or whatever material it is, yellow, red, blue, whatever color you want, its pretty cheap so if bluebatmobile sells like custom cuts for $$$$ your getting ripped off by a ricer company

Only cost about 30 bucks and took him less than 20 minutes to do. I haven't done my headlights yet because i'm having trouble finding a tinter that can tint around the nasty bulge that sticks out on the headlights. The edges are too sharp. For that I might just end up using Lamin-x since it's a little bit thicker and doesn't tend to crease up as easily as window tint.

20% I think. But don't take my word for it. The tinter just cut a couple different strips of tint and had me compare them to see which one looked better. I picked the darker one.
Just have your tinter do the same if you take it to a tint person. Hopefully they won't be too stingy with their film and can cut a couple different shades to help you decide what shade you want.

It's been raining all day today. I tried....but it just wouldn't let up. And i'm not about to get water inside a brand new cell phone.
I should have a couple up tomorrow by noon time when the weather lets up.
RICO always delivers. Just sometimes late.
