help! car won't go into gear
hey guys i tried to search first but couldn't find any pertinent information.
Basically, i have a 95 gsr w/ an original 184k on both tranny and motor. It used to shift perfect...ie no grinds, smooth to go into gear, etc.
Lately, for the past 2 or 3 weeks, it's become notchier and notchier and now it grinds going into 5th above like 3000 rpm, or if i downshift into 4th. 2nd does not really engage when downshifting either...like it won't let me into the gate.
Today, on my way to school, I was stopped at a light with the clutch in. When the light turned green, I couldn't put the shifter in 1st or 2nd or any other gear. I turned off the car and put it in 1st then restarted it and I had to do this at some of the lights on the way to school. I eventually just left it in 2nd and started in 2nd.
What could my problem be? I saw in the search that it could be a bent fork? Or perhaps I need a new clutch? I was hoping it would just be the fluid because I haven't changed the fluid since I bought it 25k+ miles ago. Please help!
