Default 92 accord engine turns over but wont start.....

ok i have a 4 cylinder 92 accord with 200,000 some odd miles on it, im sorry if you need more info let me know and i will happily get it for you. this problem started the other day and i just needed to make it to my next paycheck and i would have gotten fixed w.e needed be but that didnt happen. lets start with first time it happened, i got off the express way and was driving and it seemed like it was bogging down really bad then just shut off, the engine would turn over but not fire, after i waited about 10 min i tried again and it fired right up and drove almost the rest of the night. this happened 2 more times exactly the same but without the bogging down it would just shut off. and finally it turned off and no matter what it wont fire just turn over as much as i turn the key. After the second time it happened i started to notice a plastic maybe rubber burning smell. What could the problem be?

when the no start condition happens, you can use a test light to see if there is power on the Black/yellow wire at the dist. That would prove the ignition switch.
Based on your observation of the stinky smell, you could drop off the lower steering column shroud and look at the solder joints on the back of the ignition switch, see if any look frosty or have melted the solder off.

Hi,
I am fairly new at this, as I have never posted on a website like this before. Anyways, I came across your post and I am having the exact same problem with my 92 Accord as well. The problem started about 2 weeks ago, when I would start up the car in the morning it was fine, but after driving it for a little while, it would start lugging. Then, after turning off the car it wouldn't start again. I would wait about 5-10 minutes and then it would start right up. But as of this morning, the car just will not start again. It turns over just fine, but will not start!! I just put a brand new battery, spark plugs and air filter in the car and had the alternator tested at Auto Zone so I know it's not that. Question is...did you ever find out what the problem was with your car?? I'm hoping it's nothing too big since I just replaced the starter on my 99 Accord....but any help would DEFINANTLY be appriciated!!!
