Default please someone help me!

i have a 2000 honda civic ex. i scratched the rod bearing and replaced them to see if the knock would go away. it went away for about a week then returned so im going to have to replace the bottom end. instead of taking everything apart and rebuilding the bottom end i want to just buy one and put my perfectly running d16y8 head. i cannot find many d16y8 bottom ends around here, and if i do they are about $1000 which isnt too bad at all. but i found many more d16y7 bottom ends for $450 to $650. i was wondering if i could just pull the motor and do a sorta minime swap without any problems. i have everything from a d16y8 motor of coarse. and from what ive read i hear the d16y7 short block is the same as a d16y8 short block. thanks for everyones time! please help me with this.

JUS GETCHA 1.5 BOTTOM END OR CRX SI BLOCK AND DO A MINI ME BUMP UP C/R A LIL AND ENJOY THE TORQUE!!! BUT IF YOUR GONNA SPEND ANYWHERE NEAR 1000 BUCKS ON A BLOCK FIND A LOCAL H22 SWAP OR SUMTHIN... BUT IF YOU TAKE A SOHC NON-VTEC BLOCK AND PUT IN YOUR CAR FIND THE OIL CONTROL ORPHUS AND PULL IT OUT(IN THE BLOCK BETWEEN CYLINDER 2-3 TOWARDS THE FIRE WALL) INSTEAD OF RUNNIN EXTERNAL OIL LINE VTEC WILL SCREAM
