b16 issues

Default b16 issues

so i put the b16 in my eg. wired vtec.. do i have to wire the knock sensor up, or hte evap purge thingy..

still haveing the issue of vtec hitting at 5 and 7500 red line. and when its warm it sounds like it wants to stall... but wont. but hwen im drving its fine.. idk if i have and cel bc my bulb is burnt out so tomrorow i will be fixing that.. any ideas..

What ECU are you using to run the motor? If you are using an ECU that is looking for a knock sensor, then yes, it needs to be wired up.
No, evap purge isnt necesary to running the motor, but it is crucial for inspection and emissions and aids in gas milage.

yeah i noticed my gas milage is pretty crapy.. and im useing a p28 chipped with a chip for a stock b16. so pretty much the comp is a stock b16

Well, unless the Knock was eliminated, yes, the p28 will be looking for a knock sensor signal. Its also good to have the EVAP hooked up correctly.
Bad gas milage can also be due to a worn/defficient primary 02 sensor, a malfunctioning map sensor, and just a bad tune overall. Things such as worn plugs, bad spark wires, worn dizzy, ect, will all kill gas milage if they are not kept up with in maintenance.

yeah i got another ls dizzy laying around so i think ima switch um.. plus my valves are ticking liek crazy so i adjusted them and they still tick a lil... i just know its all electrical and thats the worse part of it all.
