How do u adjust a timing belt tensioner??
For some reason, i feel that my timing belt is loose because they kinda get wild on the cold start but then they are ok as they warm up....When i leave the car overnight and i feel the timing belt in the morning before i start the car,,,they feel pretty loose...is that something normal??? Whats the best way to adjust my timing belt tensioner??? thanks million guys
If the belt is only a little slack and tightens up after cranking/starting the engine, then it should be ok.
Anyways...are you sure you're feeling the right belt? The timing belt is underneath the timing belt covers on the driver's side of the engine. Unless you had the valve cover cut for adjustable gears or the upper plastic timing belt cover removed, you shouldn't be able to get to it...or I'm just underming your patience to be able to remove the valve cover in the morning and still put it back on.
Anyways, to tension the timing belt, you'll need to remove the valve cover and upper plastic timing belt cover. It would make it easier to remove the cruise control unit (3 10mm bolts) and sling it over onto the intake manifold.
Remove the little rubber plug that's just below the upper engine mount/just above the belts. Use a 14mm socket to loosen the bolt.
Turn the crank pulley counter clockwise a few teeth on the cam gears.
Retighten the tensioner bolt.
It's pretty stubborn breaking loose the tensioner bolt the first time, so you'll probably need a breaker bar on a small 3/8" ratchet with a non-deep socket 14mm.

Thanks bro...its kinda loose when cold and as soon as i start them and it warms up then it tightens...hope this is normal...thanks again for the help
Sure, no problem. You caught me at a good time (or bad time depending on how you look at it). I just got done destroying my engine b/c I can't even change a timing belt and water pump correctly, even after taking it apart twice and doing some procedures 3 to 4 times even.
I'll write a separate post for you guys to throw tomotoes at me.
