I just bought my first del sol, obviously i am not new to the honda scene. I have spent most of my time in the all motor and intergra forums.

I bought a 1995 del sol with the B16A3 with 105k miles in good condition with minimal rust. I am wondering what are the most common mods to the del sol. For example, on integras people put on amber corners, all red tails, shave the moldings and so on.

Are there any common problems i should be aware of with this car? Is it a rare car? How much are they worth?

cosmetic mods are easy to find and most of them are direcly bolt on and common problem for del sol is roof leaking.
engine mods are vary and so are prices. turbo or poor man's type r or some bolt ons
i would say a del sol vtec model (oem equipped b16a) worths about $3000~$4000

thanks, i paid 5k for this car, but i live in north NJ where everything is over priced. it is am OEM b16. and wat are the most common exterior mods?

 

common exterior mods..bascially i suggest u keep it stock. dont go with those ugly and ricy cheap headlights or tail lights.. go to ebay and type 94 del sol and u will understand more.

i kept forgetting to put my location in my for sale ads...i see ppl forget all the time but i got caught a few times..my location is right under my name so idk what the difference is really. oh well

As far as rarity, yes that's a rare car.

I really like Del sol's on 00 Si wheels.

it's possible that you may have seen it. yeah it has stock rear disks

yeah i've got a 94 del sol VTEC as well and i have a leaky top but my weather stripping is jacked up.

also i've heard the windows are supposed to roll down a little when you open the door and then roll back up after you shut it so it will seal the top up real good... mine doesnt do this anymore, but mine has been treated poorly in the past i believe.

car is fun as **** to drive and pretty easy to work on.

little misc. parts for the inside are hard to find but exterior mods are easy to find on jmdland.com,jhpusa.com,ebay has a lot of OEM parts that are handy, and i live at the stealership.

you can also find a lot of stuff on a local forum as you may already know

Personally I like the "Once Piece Headlights"

There are OEM ones as well, but they are quite pricey.

Otherwise I know there is a custom sub-box that fits behind the seats which is pretty bad-***, and they sell CF Hood and Trunk lids, thats the main ones I can think of.

 

Hmm love del sols looking to get a new one. I agree 00 si's look really good on del sols, same with meshies suprisingly. If you want to go cheap for a lip I used a ex Eg lip looked good. Check and see if the trunk leaks.. mine did. I didnt have any problems with the roof. Some del sols have pretty bad bumper sag by the head lights so check that out. You bought a 95 so you have the cool aux lights, mine were sprayed yellow and I liked them.. Lots of ebay haters but I bought blackhoused headlights with amber corners and they looked Great... uhhh nothing more to mind comes up..

common exterior mods for sols (that are tasteful ) would be:

JDM 1pc. headlights(the actual JDM honda ones can be found on here and on ebay for 200-350 and look a lot nicer than the 2pc. setup of stockUSDM/EDM sols IMO)

a lip(OEM eg fits nice, so do most aftermarket ones with a little trimming)

mugen spoiler or a replica(if you can find one for a reasonable price)

I happen to like the look of the '97 front more than the 93-95 bumper (so I got one and then shaved the side reflectors on it for even more of a custom/j spec look)

nice wheels

a drop

I'm a fan of mudguards on darker colored sols

CF body parts, the list is really endless.

very nice black delsol in the link about wow.

and i am liking the all amber corners..right now the car is the dark green . i was never a fan of this color personally, but the car is getting painted in the spring..i might do a color change or just try to make a really nice clean green sol.

what kinda mods are you looking into, purely cosmetic? or performance?

comsmetic and performance. for performance i will probably build another b20vtec. and you got a sickkk deal.

The GSR was EBP..the onlt thing left unpainted what the engine bay. door jambs, trunk and under hood and all of that was all painted. the paint god quality was prob about an 8 out of ten, there was one run on the car. I take it that you are in the market for a JDM fronted GSR?
