d15 and d16 dipstick the same?
i now have a built d16z6 motor and the only dipstick i have happens to be from an old d15b2. does anyone know if it is the same legnth cause it fits, i just dont want to be wrong on this one and fire it up with low oil or or something stupid like that, any help would be cool. i am going to be putting up some pics of my build just as soon as i get a chance
thanks yo, thats all i needed, now that i think about it the pans are the same so it would have made sense for the dipsticks to be the same.
The dipstick on my g/f's sister's D16Z6 was a little bit shorter mine on my D15B2 (or it might have been the other way around)...
Her handle came off hers, and I was giving her one of mine off the D15B2 and it was as different size. When her origonal D16Z6 dipstick was on full...the D15B2 dipstick was 3/4 full.
IDK if they are supposed to be the same or not (hers could have been replaced at one point)...but in my case these were different:
93 EX (D16Z6) vs. 90 HB (D15B2)

It should say in your owner's manual or on your factory airbox. If you don't have either of those, it'll be listed in a Chiltons/Haynes repair manual. If you don't have one, you should invest in one.
Off the top of my head, it's 3.3 quarts roughly or something close to that.
