I'm at 315whp on stock mounts. When i pull the engine in a couple weeks for the inevitable rebuild, i'm putting stiffer motor mount inserts in for added stability. I noticed that on hard launches, i had quite a bit of engine movement with just the stockers

Thats kinda like "don't use a condom until you get herpies or HIV".
If you watch some 300+ dyno vids on stock mounts, you'll see the motor start moving as it builds power. Now imagine when you shift into 3rd gear, full boost, and the motor flops around like a flacid feminine toy, tearing the rubber, pounding the axles, etc. Not good.
The Energy Suspension mount inserts for eg/dc's put one in the rear and 2 in the torque mounts, and for ef they go into all four. I've run both, and wheel hop drops to nothing, while adding marginal cabin vibration. They are also cheaper than spending time and money on finding another full set of mounts, fixing a hood, painting a valve cover, or replacing an axle.

S2000 has fluid filled mounts. My buddy and I are waiting on some spoon solid rubber mounts from japan before we crank up his setup. Inline pro was telling us how on their 500whp s2k they cracked the compressor housing on the turbo when the mount let go and slamed it into the subframe rail.
The hasport mounts on my integra created a LOT more vibration inside the car. Windows, dash, and headliner rattles at certain low rpms but its something you have to live with when you are making 500+.

I run a solid Rear Mount and Avid Solid Torque Mounts, other than that the rest of the mounts are OEM origional and my motor barely moves. I would however like to invest in some Hasports in the near future for the rest of the mounts.
Don't mean to hijack, but I didn't want to start a whole new threads..
I hadn't even thought about changing out the mounts when I put my engine back in. And now that I think about them, the stock mounts are pretty crappy. I was looking on a couple of sites, and I can't really figure out which set to buy.
Is there a kit out there for a b-series in a 96-00 Civic coupe? I don't see any that contain the stock "ball" type mount on the timing belt side.
Maybe I'm just clueless.

Part of the reason i bought my inserts was because i did the same....except the problem was different than i had anticipated. I actually broke the bolt holding the mount to the engine AND the rubber bushing portion. I'm not quite sure how, but i did...

+1
They fail new off the showroom floor if you launch hard enough, aka wheelhop.
Any decent turbo streetcar will be all over the road on stock mounts.

eg and dc mounts are fairly good stock, but if you start pushings some power you will start to get wheelhop eventually. EK mounts on other hand a biggest peices of **** ever (speaking about driverside). I would switch those out even on a bone stock d series, that how big of pieces of **** those are.
i had 375hp and killed my hood also cracked the trans case bolt holes so i had to replace the case i never launched it jus highway pulls not worth a nice hood and dropping a trany for jus 300bucks
innovative 85a ftw
innovative 85a ftw

my 500hp s2000 had no problems with the engine mounts the are pretty beffy from the factory. and im prettty sure that they are not fluid filled... but then again i dont want to cut a new mount open

In my hatch i'm running all 3 innovative mounts with the 85a inserts and also running the avid solid torque mounts. Its pretty insane with vibrations, but that motor isnt moving an inch, and it helps out a lot with wheel hop and launching.

The Spoon engine/transmission mount set is a solid rubber type unlike the stock liquid sealed type. The hardness rating of the mount has been increased to 70 from 55, an increase of approximately 27%. The stiffer mounts provide quicker engine response and power transfer, quicker steering response, and elimination of unpleasant idle vibrations

Spoon is the only company I could find that sells s2000 mounts. Hasport doesn't make them. Inline pro recommended putting new oem mounts in at the least. Yours must be pretty new. This car had 130k on it and it was a 01' so we decided to not risk it.
