Soft Top Life
About how many miles/years can you get from a top? Assume the top sees the average amount of elements a year. I did some searching and I was surprised I couldn't come up with much.
im at 94k, same tear i believe. since its raining.. i glue'd umbrella fabric to the inside.. hoping to put in a new soft top soon and definately getting a hardtop
'02 58K No tears or even rub marks. Original top, feel it soft with some products and it will last a long time. I live in florida, its january and I rode to work with the top down, I use mine alot...

i think climate plays a larger factor. tops that see the cold = more brittle.

I'd say it was about 35* outside and i put my soft top up, right as it needed to be clamped down the crappy plastic rear window cracked right down the middle....Oh not to mention the 3 tears i have in the top itself. 82K here

65 degrees is more accurate (as recommended) there have been people with damaged tops in 60 degree weather, that tells me something. anything under that for a prolonged period may rip your top/ break plastic window.

if you get your service guy on a great day, possibly. chances are, no. they consider the top to be a wear item... however, if you car has some ridiculously low amount of miles or is fairly new, you're more likely to get their attention.

I have an 02 with 62k miles, I noticed a few pin holes and patched them with black denim iron on patches on the inside. I cut them about 2 inches square and used a hair blower to get them to stick. They have been on about a year now and are still stuck all the way on. They blend right in and are hardly noticeable.
I went ahead and put some where I noticed rub marks from the ribs too. The patches are what you use for patching kids jeans, got them from the fabric department at Wal-mart for a few bucks.

You can get a new robbins top with the glass window for about 500 on ebay. As soon as I get my new job and save up five bills im buying one and replacing my top. Im sick of the shity plastic window and how th top is just in really bad shape. Its an 00 with 80k.
