ok well someone told me i could thats why... ill put the other one back on.

and what i mean is on the clip itself its labeled as

1-10 on the top and 11-20 on the bottom

and the diagram i have for the plugs is

20 18 16 14 12 10 8 6 4 2 on bottom and

19 17 15 13 11 9 7 5 3 1 on the top

so which one is the correct way thats the ecu plugs are numbered?

I'm assuming you are trying to use a PM5 ecu and that wont work with mpfi

then your car is not going to run. just put your old dpfi manifold on the d16 then it will run with your stock dizzy and ecu. dont start hacking away unless you got all the right parts for it.

im using a pm9 ecu not a pm5. and ive already started doing this im almost finished. except for the dizzy which im still wondering about..

i cant use the dizzy thats from the motor because its got a different plug at the since one is 1990 and one is 1997.

1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15 17
2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16

by looking at the back of the clip.

Which d16 do you have? if you don't know find out and then get an ecu and dizzy to match. if it is a y8 then you will need a vtec ecu othewise it will run like an hf motor with the wrong maps. You cannot do the mpfi swap with the stock ecu or the stock dizzy EVER IT WILL NOT RUN!! you should give me your car.

its a y7 no vtec. and first of all this in my expletivein winter beater i dont give a **** about it.

i dont have an ecu for this motor. i have the obd1 dizzy from it and the obd0 from my stock and obviously it has different plugs. instead of telling me it wont work, tell me why and which dizzy to get!

The stock ecu does not have the capabilities to run mpfi. An MPFI dizzy has a cam angle sensor in it, which you NEED to run mpfi. An easy ECU to run is a PM6 (out of an 88-91 si/ex). If you 'don't give a **** about it,' put your old intake manifold back on, run your stock dizzy and ecu on dpfi. That's the only way to do it without buying anything.
