sohc zc cam
if you put a sohc zc cam in a regular single cam will it make a difference? some dude is trying to sell one for a grip claiming it will make 15-20 extra hp. is he foreal?
15-20hp...no
bad idle...no
upgraded valve train....no
The sohc zc was rated at 118hp versus our 108hp D16a6.
Most of that difference was in the cam. But that's only if you get the right sohc zc cam. There's like 1/2 dozen different sohc zc cam profiles out there. How can you tell the difference? Not easily.
But if you do get one, its good for roughly 5 hp at the wheels, without a significant lose of mpg.

i think the 105/108hp number for the A6 is just crap anyway. so underrated. you get 110whp on a dynojet with just bolt ons.
and any difference is really in the different exhaust manifolds. difference being a short 4-1 in the A6's and a decent 4-2-1 found on all other non-US D/ZC engines.
changing out that choked up exhaust manifold on a A6 for a later model Z6 or Y8 is the most significant mod for the money. first thing i did when i got my other Si.
