Front Disc Brake Rotor Replacement - OEM? & Aftermarket?
1999 Accord LX, 4cyl, 4 door, auto
I am in need of new rotors. The current cheap replacements have warped after 14,000 miles and my original OEM rotors don't have enough meat left to be machined. I am looking for some input on who makes a good replacement rotor that doesn't warp right away. NO need to recommend ceramic or anything fancy. I am just interested in rotors that don't warp before the pads wear out.
What company makes OEM rotors for Honda? I have checked a few on-line retailers and there are plenty of options. I am sure they all meet OEM dimensions, but as I have found out they all don't meet OEM longevity

2002 civic pads and rotors cost me around 250 and that's from a local Honda dealer. We all know how much they can rip you off. My concerns are the aftermarkets always squeal and that would drive me crazy

I have used after markets and never had a problem with a squeal yet. You should try probally using a higher quality after market one.
you can't lump all aftermarket pads into one and say they'll all squeal. If you are buying aftermarket performance pads you should be buying a set that is meant for the type of driving you do. Meaning, dont buy a race pad and use it on the street and expect it to not squeal when cold.
I use either brembo or EBC rotors. I don't believe I've ever had trouble with them on any car. Currently running brembos on the Accord.
Also, it seems critical that the wheels are torqued down to spec as exactly as you can get. I can't say I had this happen on the Accord, but I've seen cars with improper torque on the wheels get warped rotors as well.
Lastly, I once chased what I thought a first was a warped rotor issue and it turned out it was simply the suspension was worn to the point it was not stable and produced the vibration one would associate with warping such as shuddering. replacing the upper and lower control arms fixed the issue in my case, but I've also seen bad balljoints do this as well. I had this most recently on a Civic, we replaced the whole front suspension, upper/lower control arms, pitman arms, ball joints, and it fixed the issue.
