gauge cluster question
so i have an 88 rex.. and i have a 91 gauge cluster im trying to put in.. when i hook everything up the tach and gas gauge doesnt work.. is there any re-wiring or anything else i need to do to make it all work fine??
There are a bunch of differences in the wiring. I could not give you the specifics, but you will need to cut and resplice wires. It is not as simple as just moving the location of the wire on the plug (re-pinning). The power for the tach and spedo are fed off the large plug on the left of the cluster on the '88's. On most other years the power was transfered to the small plug on the other side of the cluster.
I can make up a wire chart that will tell you which wire goes where, but it will take some time. Which model CRX's are the clusters from?

well mine is a hf.. but its not the cluster that came with it.. and i have no idea what it came out it.. and i have no idea what the 91 cluster came out of.. is there anyway to look at them and tell what model they came out of??
hey, could i get in on some of this. i have an 88 hatch dx, and just got a cluster from a 90 (i dont know if it was an si, but it might have been)
anyway, my car did not have a tach, and the new cluster does. plugs in, but tach doesnt work, and light ights wont come one, and it just acts crazy. any help would be great, thanks.
