I just picked up a 93 B18a1 block for my swap. The guy I got it off of said there was a slight knock so he pulled the motor. I opened it and found that there was a spun rod bearing on cylender #3 . The rod itself is still good but the crack has a slight amout of scratches on it. It doesn't look to bad but they are there. Would it damnage the crank aka. bend it? Is this something that I can just slap some new bearings on and be done with it. Or do I need to take it to a machine shop and get it micro-polished? When I go to get new bearing where do I get them besides Honda/Acura? And how do I know which color ones to get?

 

I'd still have a machine shop look at it, otherwise it'll just eat up your bearings even if its minor. Just think your motor spinning 1000-8000rpm with even the slightest scratch it'll do some damage. Color will depend on the sizing you need.
ACL, King and others have bearings too but you can pick and choose what size bearing you need. Have fun.
